In 1972, Sharbatly Fruit took a bold step by becoming the first company to bring Ecuadorian bananas to the Middle East.

Despite the risks, this decision marked a significant milestone in the region's fresh produce industry. The successful arrival and sale of the first container of Ecuadorian bananas paved the way for future imports, establishing Sharbatly Fruit as a leader in innovation and global sourcing.

In 1980, Sharbatly Fruit set a new standard in the region by establishing the largest cold storage facilities in Jeddah, solidifying its leadership in temperature-controlled storage across the Middle East.

This investment showcased the company’s dedication to ensuring the quality and freshness of its diverse fresh produce offerings. The advanced cold storage technology was integral to Sharbatly Fruit's operations, securing its leadership in the fresh fruit and vegetable market.

In May 2016, Sharbatly launched the largest specialized project for refrigerators and warehouses for fresh produce and other food products in Tabuk.

With a total area of 32,000 square meters and costing 100 million Riyals, the Industrial Cities Authority launched this specialized project for refrigerators and warehouses to cover the Tabuk region’s needs for fruits and vegetables. The project further provides local and imported fresh produce at affordable prices for customers throughout the area.

Launched in March 2015, this 50-million-riyal project helped stabilize the price of fruits, vegetables, and other food items.

Sharbatly spent upwards of 50 million riyals on the Madinah Branch in an effort to help stabilize fruit prices. The Saudi market is characterized by its diversity, and by bringing in products from 30 countries, we’ve been able to contribute to both the diversity of food products we offer and stability in produce prices.

In December 2017, Sharbatly Fruit received heartfelt thanks and appreciation for its pivotal role in supporting orphans. Our efforts included establishing and fully equipping the Mr. Abdullah Abbas Sharbatly Home for the Association of Orphans.

Sharbatly Fruit was the first to bring the Green Kiwi, Royal Gala Apple, and the highly sought-after Cotton Candy Grape to Saudi Arabia. These introductions have enhanced the variety available to consumers and reinforced our reputation for innovation and leadership in the fresh produce sector.

In 1952, the Sharbatly family marked a historic milestone by establishing the Middle East's first food storage facility at the port of Jeddah. Led by Mr. Abdullah Abbas Sharbatly, this groundbreaking initiative was designed to preserve fresh fruits and vegetables under optimal conditions, ensuring their quality and availability year-round.
